Useful Websites lion

Before exploring exponential graphs you should make sure that you know how to manipulate exponential funtions. For rules on exponents go to http://www.purplemaths.com/modules/exponent.htm, then see how to graph exponential functions at http://www.purplemaths.com/modules/graphexp.htm in three lessons. There is an interactivate java applet at http://www.rfbarrow.btinternet.co.uk/htmasa2/Exp1.htm which allows you to change the parameters of an exponential function and see the results. Another lesson and applet can be found at http://www.analyzemath.com/expfunction/expfunction.html.

There is a free sample lesson on exponential functions at http://www.mathcourses.com/demos.html in the intermediate algebra lesson. It is quite a long piece but finishes with exercises and answers.

The Mathematics Learning Centre holds workshops at the beginning of each semester. Keep an eye out for dates.

There is a Massey Universtiy Site that covers most topics well and is worth having a good look at. There are also some quizzes at http://webct-ce.massey.ac.nz/SCRIPT/tsamith1/scripts/serve_home that can help you identify problem areas.
